Contra Costa County is located in the Bay Area, extending from the San Francisco Bay to the western edge of California’s Central Valley. Our county encompasses a range of urban, suburban and rural communities, making it a unique and dynamic place to practice.

The county seat, Martinez, is located 30 miles east of San Francisco. Surrounded by water and regional open space preserves, downtown Martinez has a number of preserved historic buildings and antique shops.

Richmond is located in the county’s western urban region, which lies along the Bay adjacent to the cities of Berkeley and Oakland. One of the country’s most diverse cities, Richmond offers a vibrant arts community, a beautiful waterfront and seriously good eats.
